My name is Kelechi Obijiaku, an Igbo from Imo State; Assistant Director in the Lagos State Civil Service and the Legal Adviser of the Lagos State Public Procurement Agency.   In 1996, following my emergence as the winner of an international competition, I was awarded a scholarship by the Lagos State government that covered tuition for the rest of my secondary education and my university education.  Sometime in 2005, after the completion of my LLB degree from the Lagos State University, I had issues getting on the list for Law School. At this time, there was already a backlog of law students hoping to get into the law school so a quota system was introduced and universities had limited slots. Commuters across several cities in Nigeria have expressed excitements and gratitude to Tinubu/Shetima-NAIRAXI Transit Card Initiative for the free road transport services which they are currently providing. Commuters say this is coming at a time when the cost of road transportation is fast increasing and unavoidably expensive. The Tinubu/Shetima-NAIRAXI Transit Card initiative is currently assisting alot of Nigerians through free and subsidized transportation cost. The initiative was introduced by Nairaxi Nigeria, an Indigenous tech-powered mobility Company.

Buhari Confers Nigeria’s 2nd Highest Honour On Sadique Abubakar

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the conferment of Nigeria’s second highest national honour on the former Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar (retired), THE WHISTLER reports. Abubakar will be decorated with the Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) at an investiture ceremony scheduled for October 11, 2022, at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Abuja. The award is coming about 19 months after President Buhari appointed Abubakar, alongside other retiring service chiefs, as non-career ambassadors.

Court Sacks Taraba APC Governorship Candidate, Bwacha, Orders Fresh Primary

A Federal High Court in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital, has sacked the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in the state, Emmanuel Bwacha. Bwacha’s sacking comes after a petition by one of the aspirants, David Sabo Kente. Relying on the evidence before the court that no governorship primary was held in Taraba, Justice Simon Amobeda ordered a fresh primary within 14 days. The judge also ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to stop forthwith the recognition of Emmanuel Bwacha as the candidate of the party and that the current senator representing Taraba South in turn should desist from parading himself as the governorship candidate of the APC. He argued that it is not possible for all the primary results to have the same handwriting while the returning officer declared that no primary was held in the state at the police headquarters due to security threats. Alledged N2.5bn Fraud In Bauchi State, Patriotic Nigerians For Good Governance Writes EFCC

A dubious contract was awarded to Pentech Engineering Nigeria Ltd, without following the Bauchi State government’s own due process, business ethics, guidelines and law. No bidding process was initiated before the contract was awarded. The contract itself was an insider job. Pentech Engineering Ltd is a company wholly owned by the current Bauchi State PDP Chairman, Hamza Koshe, his children Najah Hamza, Na’ima Hamza, and one Mohammed Auwal. Pentech Engineering Nigeria Ltd, a company with a mere 1,000,000 share capital was awarded a colossal contract worth N2.5 billion at the time of the award. The contract was awarded via a simple letter marked “Secret”, dated 26/08/2021, which came from the Bauchi State Ministry of Health, and addressed to the Managing Director, Pentech Engineering Ltd, of no valid address.
